For anyone who grew up with typesetting machines, running galleys, cutting and pasting in between letters to perfectly kern revisions, swearing off computers and inhaling spray glue (in a professional way, of course!) this article will make you think back. Love to hear comments on this one!

ha! i remember the days of churning butter, too! in my first job, they made me write my copy longhand on yellow legal pads since they didn’t have enough IBM selectrics to go around. the art directors used to get mad if you wanted to change one word in the copy cuz they’d have to send out for all new type and cut & paste it into the layout. my wedding invitation had copy going around in a circle on the cover. my AD friend cut and pasted every single letter in every single word to make it work. and don’t get me started on ruby lith…
