i think it all depends on the person doing the sending. from the web guy, its expected. from the owner of the company, its pompous. judgmental? yes. but wasn’t that the question?

I got the iPhone 3G the day it came out last year, and it is the most amazing device I never knew I needed. I have to confess the first time I received emails from people that ended with “Sent from my iPhone” I thought that was kind of a pretentious thing to write, hehe. I didn’t realize that was the automatic default sign off. Now, I see it and think, “Hello, fellow member of the cult.” Back on topic, I wouldn’t think you weren’t busy working, but between things like Matt said. I think it could also be construed as saying, “I’m thinking of you even when I’m not at my desk,” the place where the best ideas come from anyway.

Those alternate sign-offs are pretty funny.

You can remove the email signature, or change it to something like; “Sent from my office”

(If you want to change it, go to “Settings”, “Mail, Contacts, and Calendars”, then scroll down to “Signature”)

I would have just assumed you were out making things happen, typing on way to a meeting, responding from the green room of an industry think tank symposium, etc. But now you’ve kind of blown it.
